    can’t get sound to stream from VM debian host to debian client. both are Parrot OS 5.1
    Any suggestions? let me know what other info one may need to help me get this working.

    [general info]
    both client&host:  OS, Parrot OS 5.1
    both client&host:  NoMachine ver: 7.10.1
    both client&host:  Enable audio streaming and microphone forwarding
    VM host machine has “HD audio controller” set as sound device hardware.

    Server Name: pulseaudio
    Server Version: 14.2
    Default Sample Specification: s16le 2ch 44100Hz
    Default Channel Map: front-left,front-right
    Default Sink: alsa_output.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo
    Default Source: alsa_input.pci-0000_00_1b.0.analog-stereo

    [host]
    Server Name: PulseAudio (on PipeWire 0.3.63)
    Server Version: 15.0.0
    Default Sample Specification: float32le 2ch 48000Hz
    Default Channel Map: front-left,front-right
    Default Sink: alsa_output.pci-0000_02_04.0.analog-stereo
    Default Source: alsa_input.pci-0000_02_04.0.analog-stereo

    Support for Pipewire in NoMachine was added in v8. So you have two choices:

    1) update to version 8. If you update you should also execute the command:
    sudo /usr/NX/bin/nxnode –audiosetup

    Otherwise uninstall v7 completely and install v8.

    2)  if you don’t want to update, you could also try the workaround which we provided for Ubuntu.
