My experience has been that you can reduce blurry fonts greatly by experimenting with the encoder type and by sliding the quality all the way to the highest level. The default quality of about 50% leaves artifacts on fonts, especially after an expose event such as moving a window around the screen. VP8 with 100% quality seems to have eliminated these issues on GNOME.
If you take screenshots of this, I don’t think you can use GIMP or xwd because it will take a shot cleanly of the Xserver and won’t recognize the artifacts in the NX client. I believe you’ll have to use a digital camera.
