    Hello,

I am running Kali on my Raspberry Pi 3B+ and NoMachine 6.3.6 armv7 as a tar file.  It was working for almost a month until I began to get authentication failed messages when trying to sign in using NX.  I uninstalled and reinstalled it and now NoMachine is not showing up in the computer menu at the top of the screen, making me go into a system search to open it to even get it running.  I am still getting the same authentication failed error message when I try to do both an external connection and a lan connection.  How can I fix it.

    Thanks

We couldn’t reproduce either of the issues on Raspberry Pi 3 with Kali. You’ve written that it worked earlier – are you sure you didn’t change something in the nxserver configuration files?

I would uninstall and completely remove any traces of the previous installation first before reinstalling.

Do that by running the following commands:

    sudo /usr/NX/scripts/setup/nxserver --uninstall
    sudo rm -rf /usr/NX

and install again. If the problem is still there, enable debug, reproduce again and send logs from the server side (instruction how to collect logs you can find there: https://www.nomachine.com/DT10O00163

Hello, I was finally able to get around to doing a fresh install and am still experiencing the problem.  I figured out that the issue is that the server doesn’t start running.  The little !M icon does not show up on my Pi as it does on my Mac.  And when I open NoMachine service status through the application finder, it shows that the server is not running.  I thought this was odd as I can establish a connection from my pi to my mac, but not vice versa.  How can I fix this?

We have tried to reproduce on our Raspberry Pi set-ups without success. Everything works as it should.

So logs from your Kali would be welcome.

@b17, you can either attach them here if they’re not too big, or send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. In the latter case, please reference the title of your topic. Thanks!

See Kroy’s earlier reply to you from November. The document explains how to enable debug and extract the logs.

If the problem is still there, enable debug, reproduce again and send logs from the server side (instruction how to collect logs you can find there: https://www.nomachine.com/DT10O00163

    Thanks!
