    I am running a network over LAN with a Windows 10 laptop and Windows 10 Tablet PC.

    I can see the machines on both computers but I can’t connect, it keeps saying authentication failed.

    But when i go from my Windows 10 tablet to my old Windows 7 laptop it works just fine… I have no idea how to solve this.

    I literally tried everything I know.

    Are you using password authentication to log in?

    I found the problem, apparently you have to create a local account in Windows 10, never knew this.

    Having a local user account on the remote computer you want to connect to is pre-requisite, like you have on the other PCs that you have tried and successfully connect to. You use these credentials to log in to the desktop that is running there.
