I hope you are well. I have recently been suggested to try NoMachine as an VNC alternative, but am having issues changing the Server Preferences. When I try to enable changes and input my admin username or password, it errors saying “Authentication failed, please try again”. I know the password is correct, as MacOS credential prompt accepts it and does not “shake” like is usually does with an incorrect input. I have tried this with an domain user as well as a local admin user.
I am using NoMachine 6.11.2 with MacOS Catalina 10.15.6. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

If you’re sure it’s not a case of wrong username and password, then we need to see the .nx folder of computer you are trying to change preferences of. You can find it in the user’s home (under /User/username) . Definitely the right username and password, as I used the same credentials to authenticate the installtion of NoMachine. I’ve sent the .nx folder in a zip file to the email address specified.

Logs show the following:

The 23636965 is a domain group. Regardless, even if I apply 777 permissions to the config folder and its contents, I am still unable to authenticate to change the settings.
