    Hi all,

I have an AMD/ATI ES1000 in my super micro server and NoMachine doesn’t seem to like it much, therefore I am searching for an inexpensive graphics card that will give me fast response and highish resolutions and works great with NoMachine on Linux.

Again this is just for for a server desktop so I don’t need a top end card.

    Any suggestions out there?

    Thank you,

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

in the current version NoMachine for linux is not taking advantage of the graphics card (though work is in progress on this matter).

Could you explain further why you say that NoMachine doesn’t seem to like your graphics card?

    Hi Fra81,

Well if you read this thread:https://www.nomachine.com/forums/topic/nx-server-4-3-30-black-screen-ubuntu-14-10

You’ll see that for some reason NoMachine doesn’t work so well with the AMD ES1000 card or it’s driver on Ubuntu. I don’t know what the issue is exactly, because I gave up and switched to Fedora. Fedora is working better, but I’m still having some issues with NoMachine.

Rather than troubleshoot this all over again, I’d rather just buy a Linux and NoMachine compatible card.

Can you please suggest a decent card that will clearly work with NoMachine and Fedora?

I’ll leave it to you to explain why NoMachine doesn’t work very well with my Card/Driver, I just want something that works reliably with NoMachine.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

here are a couple of examples of graphics card models that have been widely tested in our labs: NVIDIA Quadro K600, AMD Radeon HD6570.

Anyway, it would be useful to know what kind of problems you are experiencing, as we can’t be sure they are due to the graphics card.
