    Hi All,

I installed nomachine 4.0 on my CentOS 5.9. I have a NoMachine on my windows 7 PC that I try to connect to. I installed it on other centos 5.9 and it worked. This one is giving me a special issue. They all use GNOME. It is a physical computer. I can connect to it using NX port 4000 and enter username and password. Here is where the issue is.

When it is connected, I press through “OK” then, at the end, I get this (see attached image).

    Can someone help?

Can you try the latest release, NoMachine 4.1? If you are getting the same issue, we will then require the full set of logs.

    Hi,

I decided before I try it on my main pc, I tried it on another centos (same version). This one was working perfectly fine until.. I removed the 4.0 version and installed the newer version you said to install and reset the linux machine. After the reset, I logged in and now I cannot see the desktop Icons. The only thing that comes up is the nomachine server. I uninstalled the nomachine but I still have the same desktop issue.

If I where to login to root account, I would get this prompt.

Thanks this link worked to fix the login issue.

Concerning my original problem, I reinstalled to the newer version. I then tried to use nomachine client to connect to the newly installed nomachine.

I have two accounts on that Centos, root and rainbow. On the physical computer, its logged into rainbow. If I try NoMachine with rainbow credentials, I am asked for user authentication. I look on the physical machine, there is nothing asking me to allow or deny any users.

If I try to login as root, I get the black screen in the png image I uploaded.

I decided to go into the nxserver file and change #VirtualDesktopAuthorization 1 to #VirtualDesktopAuthorization 0 and take out the ‘#’.

I then typed service nxserver restart

Try to login again with rainbow credentials, I get the same User Authentication.

On the physical centos, I cannot see nomachine in the taskbar (near the time) compared to other centos I have installed it on. I cannot open the GUI to make any changes.

You mentioned a “full set of logs” where can I find that to send to you?

    Hi,

Disregard my last message that stated I made changes to the server file and it did not work. I tried it again and it stopped asking me for the authentication. But I still get the black screen.
