    NX> 701 NX service on port: 4000

I am connecting to NoMachine 4 on linux from my windows nxclient 3.5.

After going through configuration wizard, the connection fails with error message :

The NX service is not available or the NX server access was disabled on host.

when i click on details, it gives me info :

    NX> 203 NXSSH running with pid: 7680
NX> 285 Enabling check on switch command
NX> 285 Enabling skip of SSH config files
NX> 285 Setting the preferred NX options

    NX> 202 Authenticating user: nx
NX> 208 Using auth method: publickey
    NX> 204 Authentication failed.

NEVER had this issue when i was using nxclient, nxnode, nxserver 3.5

NX client 3.5.0 uses SSH protocol, which is not supported by NoMachine free.

You can upgrade your client to version 4 and connect by NX protocol.

The NoMachine Enterprise Client is available for download here:

    http://www.nomachine.com/download-enterprise

Anyway, there is also the possibility to tunnel the NX protocol into a SSH connection:

You can install NoMachine on the Linux Redhat 5.9 Server, what software do i need to install.

On Windows 7 it’s ok that you installed NoMachine Enterprise Client.

From your Windows PC, run the NoMachine GUI from the programs menu. Then create a new connection to the Linux Redhat 5.9 Server.

The fastest way to create a new connection is to write the name or IP of the NoMachine host you want to connect to in the text field and click on the lightning icon. This method will use the default NX protocol on port 4000.

This tutorial can be also useful:
