I have a Linux VM (Ubuntu 16.04.2) on KVM that I am trying to connect to from a Windows client (tried both Windows 7 and 10). The application I am trying to use needs relative mouse control and other forum posts suggest that you can pass through a usb mouse from the Windows client to the Linux VM. But I cannot get passthrough working in this scenario. Using the same client I can connect to a windows VM and pass though a usb mouse.

Has anyone been able to get this working? Do I need to use a Linux Client to Linux server to get this working?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi timBrown,

Can you tell something more about this problem, i.e.:

    – Does it affect only the USB mouse, or other devices also?

    – When you’re trying to share a device, does sharing process fail, or does it seem to succeed, but nothing happens?

You can also check if there is an “nxusb.ko” file in “/usr/NX/bin/drivers/” directory. If you do not find it, you can try to compile it simply by running “make” command in “/usr/NX/share/src/nxusb/” and copy “nxusb.ko” file to “drivers” directory. If the compilation process fails, make sure that linux-headers are available.
