My issue seems very similar to what’s described here: https://www.nomachine.com/TR08R09815. However I don’t get authentication error… just nothing happens. I can enter the password, but on enter it just stays there. Screen is not frozen as when I scroll down and up again, I can re-enter the password. Entering anything incorrect is detected properly, so it’s really the unlocking itself that doesn’t work.

Running latest NoMachine 7.0.211_4 on Ubuntu 20.04.

After a reboot I can login, but once the screen is locked, I cannot unlock.

I think you are running two Gnome sessions for the same user (likely you have user logged at the physical console). Gnome gets confused about the session to be unlocked so it’d be wiser running a single Gnome session per user.

It’s a headless server. I have similar installation running Ubuntu 18.04 without issues. Only those running 20.04 I have this issue on.

Possibly because something changed in Gnome on Ubuntu 20.04? If you Google, other users are having unlock issues without NoMachine.
