Can’t connect to Ubuntu NX Server

I have NX Server on Ubuntu, and when I try connecting from a Windows 10 NX Client, I get the following errors in the connection log file:

/etc/NX/nxserver: line 95: /usr/NX/bin/nxexec: cannot execute binary file

/etc/NX/nxserver: line 95: /usr/NX/bin/nxexec: Success

I checked the permissions for /usr/NX/bin/nxexec, and see this:

-r-sr-xr-x 1 root root   77504 Sep 29 23:02 nxexec*

I tried executing nxexec from the shell and get this error:

-bash: ./nxexec: cannot execute binary file

Any ideas why this is happening?

The NX Client side is 5.0.43 on Windows 10.

I installed the NX Server from the file:is nomachine_5.0.43_1_x86_64.tar on Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS.

Hi.
This same output can show if you install 64-bit version on 32-bit architecture. Can you verify it? You can check it for example by using command uname -m on that Ubuntu.

If your architecture is 32-bit you need to uninstall 64-bit version and remove /usr/NX directory (sudo /usr/NX/scripts/setup/nxserver --uninstall && sudo rm -rf /usr/NX) and install correct version.

Ok, I was able to get that issue resolved, thanks to your help!  I thought I had installed 64 bit Ubuntu, but was wrong.

Now I can connect, but am seeing a different issue.  After connecting, the window paints and I can see the desktop as expected. However, it ignores half of my keystrokes.  Also, the window goes blank about every 15 seconds, until I move the mouse or some keystroke.  It then takes about 15-30 seconds to repaint, so it is extremely slow.  Is there a thread for this that you can point me to, or should I open a new thread?
