    Hi,

I use NoMachine to connect from my Macbook to my Linux desktop. Just today when doing that the window settings apparently cannot be changed. Specifically, I’d like to change the screen resolution. I can change them apparently in the dialogue box, but when I click Done, the screen blinks, but then goes right back to the previous setting. I’m trying to get the screen to match the size of my monitor where I’m displaying the NX window. Note that I’ve been using the same video settings and resolution for many months now with no problem previously. Could this have anything to do with the settings of the Linux system that I’m connecting to? Any help would be appreciated.

    Regards,
    Jon

    Hi Jon,

yes, it could definitely have to do with the settings on the Linux system, but we can check NoMachine logs for any issue. Please find instructions for server side logs at https://www.nomachine.com/DT11R00181#1.1 (debug level, steps 1 and 2, is not necessary) and for client side logs at https://www.nomachine.com/DT11R00181#2.2.

    Hi,

So the problem mysteriously went away – partially. That is, now I can change the window resolution. However, it used to be that if I disconnected from a session, the next time I connected, the window resolution would be remembered. That doesn’t happen anymore. So each time I connect to the session, I need to reset the window resolution.

I suppose you might still want to see the logs to diagnose the problem. It seems like there’s a lot of unnecessary stuff that would be included if I followed the steps as described in those links provided. In particular, there are a lot of files under ~/.nx and many are quite old. Wouldn’t only the most recent session be relevant?

    Regards,

    Jon

    Hi,

surely the most recent sessions are the relevent ones. You can send only those or all logs, as you prefer.
