    Hi,

I have recently discovered NoMachine software and couldn’t believe that everything works out of the box, without any issues, after spending numerous hours on configuring other rdp/vnc solutions. Good job!

However, today I noticed one strange thing. I usually like to use fullscreen mode with NoMachine client, but today I had to exit the fullscreen (not the app, just the mode), do something on my host machine, and then go back to fullscreen mode. This worked fine, but after repeating the same actions (exit fullscreen-enter fullscreen) 3-4 times, the client became unresponsive, so I exited the client app and connected again to the server, but then I got this message:

“The server was unable to make the local display available or access to the local display is disabled.”

So, I restarted server machine after which everything worked fine, but the same thing happened again after exiting the full-screen couple of times, but this time I saw that Cinnamon crashed and was asked to restart it, which I accepted but it would crash again.

On the server and the client,  I’m running Linux Mint 19.1 with default Cinnamon DE(4.0.10). NoMachine version installed on the server and the client is 6.7.6(Free version). I am connecting to the server over VPN, if that means anything.

This is not a deal-breaker for me, but it would be nice if I didn’t have to worry if my DE is going to crash any second. But to be honest, I don’t have any problems if I just use ‘Fit to window’ option.

    Hello Darkg82,

We tried to reproduce your problem on Linux Mint 19.1. with Cinnamon 4.0.10, but weren’t able to. Have you noticed that these crashes occur when using a specific application, e.g. while playing a video? Is your Linux Mint 19.1 a headless system?

Could you enable debug, reproduce problem, collect logs and send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com? Instructions about debug and collecting logs you can find there:

Are there any .xsession-errors in the your home directory? If such a file was created, please send it together with the logs.
