    I am using Nomachine 4.0 366_5.
Trying to re-use my 3.x session doesn’t work.
So I created a new session.
My settings are: Use ssh, use a server key.

Creating a virtual desktop or a custom session in a virtual desktop works.
A custom session in a floating window doesn’t.

This seems to be the relevant part of the log:
    6772 4992 12:23:32 135.059 Main: Starting NoMachine Client version ‘4.0.366’.
    .

    Thanks

What have you got installed on the server side? Confirm the NoMachine product and the version.

    Hi,
I only have free versions installed on the server side:
    freenx-0.7.3-9.4.el6.centos.x86_64
    nx-3.5.0-2.1.el6.centos.x86_64

I know that I don’t get support for this, but maybe it also occurs in NoMachine.

    Regards

    Dominik

I’m not aware of this particular problem connecting from client 4 to server 3.5.0 (from NoMachine). We’ll check again to make sure that compatibility between our versions is intact, but for freenx issues you should contact who’s responsible for that project.

    I’m having the same problem

at the end it says that the “authentication failed for user ecerulm” but I’m assuming is really due to the “Process: ERROR! Error is 22 ‘Invalid argument’.”

So how do I find out what is the version installed in the server side?

When I connect with the 3.5.0-9 with the same session it works.

I think I actually managed to type the wrong password in the previous attempt. BUt now the password is ok and still the custom session with floating windows fails. The log mentions <reset “1” error “108”>. Anybody knows what it means?

I’m having the exact same problem connecting to or creating a floating window session (virtual desktop sessions *do* work). My session logs are functionally identical to what ecerulm posted. Server is running on RHEL5 using the following rpm versions:

    nxnode-3.5.0-3
    nxclient-3.5.0-6
    nxserver-3.5.0-9

Running NoMachine 4.0.366 client on Windows 7 x64.

The error is because the server side closed the connection without following the normal shutdown procedure. You should check why on the server.

As Dan25 suggested we will check if there are problems with custom session. If we find anything wrong the client side (player), it’ll be fixed.

If there are problems with NX 3.5.0 server, they need to be dealt with by the support team for those customers still using 3.5.0. Any bugs will be investigated according to the terms and conditions of the support contract.

This forum is, as a rule, for problems related to NoMachine 4, but since this could well be a problem related to client 4, it would be useful to take a look at the session file (.nxs) and also the server logs 🙂 You can send logs to issues[at]nomachine.com.
