    Hello,

Two subjects : encryption and compression setting.

    Encryption:

Is it possible to disable NX encryption when using SSH tunnel ?

    How ?

A double encryption (NX+SSH) is useless and costly in CPU time, isn’t it ?

    Compression:

Is it possible to disable NX compression when using SSH tunnel ?

    How ?

But I guess it’s perhaps better to let NX compress data rather than SSH ?

    Thanks !

    Regards,

    Steve.

    Hi Steve,

there is no option to disable encryption. Also compression can’t be disabled completely, but I’d strongly recommend to use NX compression anyway, as it is aware of the type of content trasported and thus it is much more efficient (and effective) than a general purpose compressor.

    Hello,

It’s a pity that NX encryption can’t be disabled when using a VPN or SSH tunnel !

Double encryption is totally useless, isn’it ?

Wasn’t it possible with older verion (if I well remember) ? Why did you remove this feature ?

    Regards,

    Steve.

Perhaps you are referring to a legacy version, like prior to version 4?

Perhaps you should read this about NX in version 4 which gives some insight into the technology at the time:

A brief description of the NX protocol in version 4 or later

The cost of encryption is really “negligible” and we do not want to add options that could potentially put users’ machines at risk.
