Error: Cannot create a new display

I have a headless server with installed NoMachine and I’m getting :
The session negotiation failed. Error: Cannot create a new display, please contact your system administrator

NX> 500 ERROR: Cannot create a new display, please contact your system administrator.

My settings /usr/NX/etc/server.cfg

DisplayOwner ats
CreateDisplay 1
DisplayGeometry 800x600

But (not sure if related) If I create and connect to server via VNC, restart NoMachine server few times and try reconnect few more times with NoMachine – it will connect. Any ideas?

Hi

Which desktop environment are you using? The error mentioned above may indicate that command for start desktop is incorrect. You should edit /usr/NX/etc/node.cfg as root and change DefaultDesktopCommand (uncomment if commented) value to – for example “/usr/bin/mate-session” if you have MATE installed.
