    Hello everyone,
I’m trying to troubleshoot a strange issue around which I cannot wrap my head. Hopefully, I can find some assistance here.

My Ubuntu desktop is set so SMB shared drives are automatically mounted when I log on.

I noticed the following behavior when initiating a new remote session to that Ubuntu desktop:

    1. If my user is already logged on the server when the remote connection is initiated, the desktop environment will be transferred and the shared drives will be mounted correctly.
    2. If my user has never logged on server when the remote connection is initiated (following a reboot, for example) and several minutes have passed, NoMachine will not prompt for a virtual session to be created, the desktop environment will be transferred and the shared drives will be mounted correctly.
    3. If my user has never logged on server when the remote connection is initiated (following a reboot, for example) but little time has passed since the reboot, NoMachine will prompt for a virtual session to be created and the shared drives will not be mounted correctly.

I’m a bit at a loss. I’ve looked into /usr/NX/var/log and found little information in nxerror.log and nxd.log, and I didn’t know what to look for in nxserver.log, so I’ve probably overlooked the relevant information.

    Does someone have an idea?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

It looks like the disk wasn’t mounted by SMB before an attempt to mount it by NoMachine. Can you make sure, that the disk is present in your environment? It is also possible that SMB mounts the disk after starting the file browser.

Let’s consider 3rd point mounting failed. Are you able to mount the disk by NoMachine, after some time, in the next try. First and failed try shouldn’t block such possibility.

If the SMB has mounted the disk and still you’re unable to use it with NoMachine, please submit the logs to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. For instructions, see here: https://www.nomachine.com/AR10K00697.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

NoMachine is able to use the disks if they have been properly mounted prior to initiating the first NoMachine session.

SMB is configured to auto-mount a list of drives stored in a file at logon.

Every logon scenario we tested work fine, except the one described previously. For some reason, it looks like NoMachine does not trigger the logon scripts in the first few minutes after a reboot.

I have included logs of clean (working) scenario as well as faulty scenario. Both were taken from clean log files and start from an identical state.

    Thank you

The logs you submitted were not complete. We need the whole directory as per the article mentioned above.
