Currently, when NoMachine grabs keyboard input, it only does so from the physical keyboard. As a result, the touch keyboard included with Windows 11 can be used to type in a remote computer, but not send over key combinations. That makes NoMachine less convenient to use on Windows tablets. Being able to control a remote computer on a Windows tablet with no keyboard attached, included keyboard shortcuts, would be very helpful.

We absolutely agree with you, and indeed we are investigating a way to grab the virtual keyboard input. In this early stage we can’t confirm if it will work out of the box or if we’ll need to implement some specific solutions, but in order to have as much usage information as possible, would you kindly confirm the key combinations that you’re using and would require to be only sent to the remote desktop?

The Alt-Tab combination for switching between application windows is the one I use commonly. The Win-Ctrl-arrow key combination for switching between virtual desktops is essential for my workflow. Those are the key combinations I use most commonly, excluding common shortcuts like Ctrl-A and Ctrl-C.
