I now see “Apple Inc FaceTime HD Camera (Built-in)” in the list of USB devices and to forward it. But the camera is not accessible on the Linux end. NX USB driver is loaded and dmesg says the NX USB hub is detected and added, but lsusb doesn’t show it. /dev/ doesn’t seem to have anything that might be the camera. The Linux box is an AWS EC2 instance, so perhaps something needs to be installed/configured on it for this to work?

Client: MacBook Pro running macOS Monterey 12.4 / NoMachine 7.10.1
    Server: RedHat 8.6 (4.18.0-372.9.1.el8.x86_64) / NoMachine 7.10.1

    # lsmod | grep nxusb
    nxusb                  36864  5

    # lsusb
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

    dmesg has:

    Hi,

There is a known issue with forwarding camera between macOS and other operating systems: https://kb.nomachine.com/TR05S10262.

lsmod says nxusb is loaded. I built it again following the instructions just in case. lsusb sometimes reports an NX USB bus but not always. Even when the NX USB bus shows up the camera doesn’t seem to get remoted, though I’m not sure what /dev/ entry it would show up as.

We are aware of the issue with forwarding USB camera from macOS-based client and we will be fixing it. Please watch out for the fix in a future maintenance. If you would like to check the status of this issue, you can do it here: https://kb.nomachine.com/TR05S10262.
