My apologies for re-opening this this subject in a separate post. Unfortunately I can’t reply to my previous post (https://www.nomachine.com/forums/forums/topic/freebsd-version) due to the post being marked as ‘closed’.

I very much agree with the follow up of the user ‘titan’. I believe it would be relatively easy to create a binary version for FreeBSD. We’re a 20+ team at a major ISP that would be interested in using NX client with FreeBSD. We’re currently an early adopter group working with Linux versions but we would like to expand the solution corporate wide.

I also happen to be an official FreeBSD developer with write access to the FreeBSD ports tree and I would be interested in maintaining a FreeBSD version of NX client voluntarily over a long time.

Please feel free to contact me privately if you’re interested in a collaboration. I wouldn’t mind signing a NDA.

Interesting. Thanks a lot for your offer ;-).

We’ll get in contact. I’m not sure yet how cooperation can be organized, but there are definitely a lot of things we can work on together.

I could provide a virtualized ports build environment based on poudriere that would allow you/me to create (say binary only) packages for all the supported FreeBSD major branches. To begin with let’s say for arch i386 and amd64. This could all be achieved in one single VM. I could create the initial setup that would enable you (or me if you like) to create current packages. I could then create official FreeBSD ports that would make use of those binary packages. It could even be something similar to java where the user will have to login to your site and download the binary packages manually. Please contact me off list via e-Mail if you’re interested.
