    Hi,

I am using MacOS Catalina to connect to Linux Centos server. The screen freezes for 6-10 seconds every when I switch between two open windows; for example when I switch between an open program and an internet browser.

I am using SSH and virtual desktop on the client-side.

How to make sure that hardware-accelerated decoding is enabled on my Mac (client-side) when the resolution is higher than 1920×1080?

If it is not enabled at high resolution how can I enable it?

I know inĀ  Windows it can be enabled by editing the player.cfg configuration file and set:

<option key=”Switch to software decoding on Windows if resolution is bigger than 1920×1080″ value=”true” />

Is there something similar for Mac?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

hardware decoding is always enabled by default on Mac. If you send the logs, we can check what is actually used. You can find instructions in https://www.nomachine.com/DT10O00163#2 and then you can send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com. I would also check CPU usage on both the client and the server during those freezes.

Sorry for the delay, I thought i had already replied to this with some comments on the logs. Anyway, in the logs I see that hardware decoding is effectively used. Is the server headless? If yes, can you try to attach a monitor?
