    Hi there,

I’ve some trouble with one of two complete identical (Hardware and BIOS rev.) desktop machines . Both of them are using Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.

The one machine works without a physical monitor and any further issues.

The other one begins to struggle if I remove the physical display. The whole desktop is distorted and there are many graphic bugs. Completely unusable.

I already searched the forum for solutions and tried to fix it with these articles :

    https://www.nomachine.com/FR10N03221

but no success, after that I reinstalled the whole system several times, Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04. But also no success.

Any ideas? Am I missing something?

Take a look to the session logs (usually located under /usr/NX/var/log/node/C-…). Do logs from the two machines show any difference?

Is there any difference in software (video device driver, for example)?

Are the two machine equipped with the same video card (and which kind of video card)?

Try a dummy plug. I bought one off Amazon and it solved my headless issues in Ubuntu.
