Is it possible to configure which monitor uses which ID?

I’m using the Ctrl-Alt-<Monitor id> shortcut incessantly and recently I replaced one of the monitors and the IDs switched: the non-replaced had “2” and is now “1”, the new one took the “2”. As the original sequence is remembered more by my hands than my brain 😉 I’m having a hard time getting used to the new numbering.

Admittedly not a big deal, but would be nice.

Hi, this is not possible I’m afraid. How NoMachine prioritizes monitors depends on how they’re set in the systems settings.

Thanks! I’ll get used to it.  🙂

On second thought: What about allowing flexible hotkey assignments? So that I could assign <Ctrl><Shift> to a monitor-id of my choice … Ok, ok, I’ll just shut up. 😉

As Britgirl replied, it’s probably simply a matter of re-organizing the monitor layout from within the display settings of your operating system.

By disconnecting your old monitor #1, your monitor #2 automatically became the #1

Then by connecting a new monitor, this monitor was automatically assigned as #2

In Windows you’d go to Settings, System, Display and from there you can re-order the monitors as wished.
