Hi Guys, I hope someone can help…I have changed my smartphone shortly (I moved to a Huawei P30 pro with Android 10) and when I tried to connect the new phone to NoMachine on my Xubuntu 18.04. pc I suddenly got the message “Authentication failed”, no way to connect.

I then updated NoMachine on my ubuntu (I now have V 6.9.2)  uninstalled Nomachine from the new smartphone and reinstalled. Same problem. When I started the App on the Huawei after reinstall I got the message, that the APP as not “designed” for this Android version, can this be the reason? Any Idea how to solve the problem? Sorry guys, I am not skilled with NoMachine at all, so I don’t know where/what  I should start to investigate.

Even with this message you should be still able to connect. Do you use password authentication? Are you sure that you used correct credentials? Are there unicode characters? Were you able to connect there earlier? Please create a new connection to connect. Verify also if you can connect from other host to the same server, maybe problem is on server side.

Thanks for the answer 🙂 Yes password authentication. I am pretty sure, user and password are the same, Unless I am dreaming as I did the first setup months ago. As for the user login no unicode characters, all letters are “basic” alphabet. I even tried without entering any password at all, no change. Yes, it worked before. I tried to create another connection, no success… can you explain what you mean with “Verify also if you can connect from other host to the same server, maybe problem is on server side.”? Sorry, what should I do? By the way, sorry I did not really specify before, I want to control my xubuntu 18.04 pc via my huawei p30 pro.

Update: it could be that my smartphone was changing the first letter of the PW to a capital letter and I cannot see it on the screen, don’t know why. I now tried with my Samsung tablet and it worked. Thanks for opening my eyes 🙂 Take care guys.
