    Hello there,

Reviewing our NoMachine installation (NoMachine Enterprise Desktop 6.8.1 on SLES 12), I have seen that some log files are world writable. Why? Is there any way to change this behaviour?

    Best regards,

    Hello ednaiul

The reason behind that is that all users write logs to those files.
We’re working on improvements to correctly manage files and eliminate all-writable files/directories from NX installation:
    https://www.nomachine.com/FR11Q03892.

It’ll be included in an upcoming release.

    Hi Gega,

I’m unable to access to the FR provided with the link. Please, could yo provide it again?

Additionally, is there any possible workaround, while that improvement is provided?

I have included theĀ EnableSyslogSupport 0 in both files (node.cfg and server.cfg), and that moved the logs to the syslog files, which is great ;).However, I still have some world writable files, such as nxerror.log and “update”.

Is there any possible work around to apply until the new version is released?

There’s no workaround. However, development is almost finished, so if it doesn’t make the next maintenance release, it could be the one after that. So please sign up to receive notification using the ‘notify me’ utility.
