I am having a similar problem. I installed the free NoMachine 6.7.6 recently on my Mac (MacOS 10.14.4) and on a headless Linux machine (Debian GNU/Linux 8.11). Our IT administrator did the latter, as I don’t have administrator rights for the server.
NoMachine worked fine for several days and suddenly I only got the progress wheel when trying to connect to my server (“Connecting to server”). Restarting the software and my computer did not help, so I killed all NoMachine related processes under my user account on the server. Now, when I connect and after inserting my password, I get the message “No available sessions on this server”, but I can’t create a new session.
Restarting the server is not an option for me as this is a shared computing server.

Nikolas, can you send us logs from the Linux host?
Please follow the instructions here: https://www.nomachine.com/DT10O00163. You can send them directly to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com making sure to include the title of your topic in the subject. Thanks.
However, after I was able to create a new session, I exited it again and now I’m in the same situation again. I guess another restart of the NX server will be necessary every time a new session should be created.
