Windows client conencting to a Linux host.

I have a mute key that isn’t being passed to the host. It mutes my client hardware instead.

Confer this behaviour with eg xRDP which captures the media key and passed it through.

FWIW mute on my keyboard is fn+f1, but I don’t think that matters as it doesn’t even reach the remote.

Related could be that NoMachine did not set my keyboard correctly so maybe there’s a directive from the server that is causing the client to ignore the key?

Can you try to grab the keyboard input in the session. You can do it in the in-session menu-panel or by pressing Ctrl + Alt + K to toggle the keyboard grabbing.

That makes no difference I’m afraid.

It’s almost like the client is designed to not pass this key, similar to other Ctrl+Alt shortcuts. The Windows key is passed through okay.

Can I somehow provide the key code being pressed in my Windows client (how?)

Hello, I’m considering creating a Feature Request to get NoMachine client handle volume keys.
