    On my Linux box (server)

nxserver version 6.4.6_1 (free version), Ubuntu 18.04, uname -r 3.19.0-33-generic

Linux box is running vncserver on :1 as

    vncserver -localhost

    On my Windows box (client)

    Windows client 6.4.6 (free version)

When connecting to virtual display :1 on my Linux box, all seems well.  But the instant I grab a window by the titlebar to move it, the mouse pointer disappears, and never comes back.  I would like to to be able to connect to the :1 display as it isn’t a physical display.

It seems that Xvnc provides an empty shape to applications querying the state of the cursor (like NoMachine).

Rather than using vnc, if you turned display manager (gdm) off NoMachine would start its own display server (that is not suitable if you need to keep the physical display on).

Otherwise, try a different headless X server (like Xvfb).

    Hi wmacgreg,

we were able to reproduce your problem. We’ve opened a Trouble Report here: https://www.nomachine.com/TR01Q09112. The fix should be included in the next update.
