Quick question: With free NoMachine, can multiple people on different machines connect to a single given machine with each person having their own session? That is, does free NX support a client/server model with multiple clients and a single server?

Hi David, you need a product with the virtual desktop functionality which allows individual multiple Linux desktops to run on the same host. Each user can have their own personal ‘virtual’ Linux desktop according to how the Administrator has configured it. The virtual desktop functionality is available in all the Linux products with exception of Enterprise Desktop and the free package:

    Hi Britgirl:

Thanks for the answer but I am still confused. Does the free version (on Linux if it makes any difference) support virtual desktop functionality which allows individual multiple Linux desktops?

The free version for Linux does not provide the virtual desktop functionality. The Workstation would most likely be suitable for your needs.

I have also edited article AR10K00702 to make it clearer.

Point 2)… The virtual desktop functionality is not available in the free NoMachine for Linux. Workstation supports virtual desktops.
