I use a Windows 10 laptop to connect to a virtual machine running Pop OS 22.04. And I cannot any sound to play.

My guess is that the root of the issue is that Pop OS 22.04 uses Pipewire. I see the document NoMachine – Adding support to PipeWire Sound Server – Knowledge Base but the instructions are specific to Manjaro and I’m not sure what to do in Pop OS.

PopOs is ubuntu-based I believe, so try with sudo apt install -y pulseaudio.

The FR you linked is specific to Fedora. We will be extending support for Pipewire across the supported Linux distros.

Oh, yeah! I wanted to type Fedora. Don’t know why I said Manjaro…

About installing Pulseaudio in Pop OS. It conflicts with the pop-desktop package. I don’t know how I’m supposed to install it.

Consider using an alternative distribution, perhaps Ubuntu? It seems popOS can’t work with Pulseaudio

or wait and see if popOS developers fix the issue.

I sadly can’t afford to switch distros. I was hoping there was another way. I’ll guess I’ll just wait for NoMachine to support Pipewire.

Is there an ETA about it?
