I just installed the Terminal Server Trial Version nomachine-terminal-server-evaluation_4.0.369_2_amd64.deb

and when i connect a user i only get physical connections no virtual sessions are made.

Is there a setting which will force virtual connections to be made.

    I am running Ubuntu 12.04 x86_64

What would be the point of  a terminal server if it couldnt create virtual sessions.

    Physical connections are very slow.

What settings can i play with to force virtual sessions.

    Thanks

Did you install the Terminal Server product on top of a free NoMachine? Virtual desktops are enabled by default. If you had NoMachine (free) installed earlier, uninstall everything, remove the installation dir, and reinstall the Terminal Server from scratch. I agree, what would be the point of a terminal server if can’t create virtual sessions 😉
