I have been successfully using the following configuration on Yosemite for a long time:

    • MacBook Air display and an Apple Thunderbolt Display (default display)
    • Separates spaces between the 2 displays
    • NoMachine client window on the large Apple Thunderbolt Display (default display)

After upgrading to El Capitan last week, there are no visible NoMachine client windows in any spaces, even though the created connections show up in the “Connections” menu bar of the NoMachine application. My current configuration is:

    • MacOS X El Capitan 10.11.6 (15G31)
    • NoMachine Client for MacOS X version 5.1.26
    • Any connection window (server on Linux)

The only way for me to proceed is to temporarily set my displays in mirror mode (with the systems preferences), at which point I start NoMachine and the client window shows up, then I go back into the non-mirror display mode and my NoMachine client window remains visible… This workaround is really painful – please help.

    Hi.
When you want to disconnect, press Ctrl + Alt + 0 to open the menu, then click the small icon in the bottom-right corner of the menu, under the Done button. In the disconnection dialog, check the box “Remember current window size and position”, then exit the client. When you start NoMachine again, is still the window not visible?

Thanks, your suggestion helped somewhat… Now if I start NoMachine from the dock on my MBA monitor, then I do see a client window on my Thunderbolt monitor (but the window is of the size of the MBA monitor), please note that there is no NoMachine menu in the Apple bar of the Thunderbolt monitor (it show another application e.g. iTunes), it only shows up in the Apple bar of my MBA.

On the other hand, if I start NoMachine from the Thunderbolt display, then I see the NoMachine menu from the Thunderbolt display Apple bar, but then I don’t see any client connection window… It’s almost as if the client window is positioned relative to the display where I invoke NoMachine from, and if that position does not fall into the second display, then I can’t see it…

    Thanks.

Are you still using 5.1.26? Or have you updated? We need to know so we can send you a debug package 😉
