    Hi!

I have been using NoMachine to connect my iPhone to my Mac build agent via network usb feature. Until recently it worked amazingly well. But yesterday I updated NoMachine for Mac to version 7.6.2 and discovered that I can’t connect my devices in both directions: the list of USB devices is empty. After some investigation I concluded that NoMachine USB kext is not present on my Mac: it is not listed in the Extensions tab of System Report andΒ /Library/Application Support/NoMachine/Extensions does not contain USB kext (see attached image). Reinstalling NoMachine doesn’t help. It seems like the installer doesn’t contain needed kext or doesn’t unpack it.

    System info:
    MacOS 11.5.2
    NoMachine 7.6.2

    Best regards,
    Gleb

@Carin Would you be willing to share the script? I also want to connect USB devices to a macOS VM.

@Carin Can you also share the script with me?

I tried copying over the kext from /Applications/NoMachine.app/Contents/Framework/bin/drivers/nxusbvhci_11.0.kext

It installed fine after editing the permissions and the kext is loaded. However the USB list is still empty.

Thanks! The script seemed to have worked. Though the copy commands did not work exactly right (copied to wrong directory), I had to do those manually.

@Carin Hi! Workaround your team have sent be works somewhat πŸ™‚ Usb related kexts are loaded and visible via System Report. The list of connected devices on both Mac and Linux/Windows is visible and correct. But connecting remote usb device to macOS still doesn’t work: NoMachine indicates successful connection with a green dot, but devices are not accessible on mac (I have tried both iPhone and usb flash drive). It seems like the issue was already reported: https://forums.nomachine.com/topic/not-able-to-see-successfully-connected-usb-device-iphone-on-the-mac and https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/TR07S10310.

    Best regards,
    Gleb

    Thank you, that indeed solved the problem for at least one user under MacOS 11.xx ;

Note however your script seem to contain some windows linebreaks “^M” , and some “\r”Β  that made it not runnable out of the box. I’m not sure how to properly correct it, I finally ran all the lines of your script one after the other.

    Thank you for your help,

    Jeremy.

    Me too!

Have been attempting to get this to work – if you can pass on the script that’s being handed around, that would be great?

    Thanks, Paul

Hello. I’m facing a similar problem when trying to establish USB connection between Linux and macOS 11.6 M1. Could you share your workaround script, please?
