I want to set up an inexpensive 15″ Chromebook as a NoMachine client. I’ve not found how to do this in the docs or even here in the forum. Running NoMachine will be the laptop’s only function. Any guidance on how to do this? I want a 15″ display with at least 1920×1080 resolution, wifi, trackpad, and a sub$200 cost.

NoMachine packages installs out-of-the-box on Chromebook, just like on any other computer. You can get started by checking out tutorial here:

    https://www.nomachine.com/getting-started-with-nomachine

Of course, you must first decide what to install on it. What OS is running on it?

For Android it’s downloadable from the Play Store. There you will find the client-side package which you can install on your Chromebook and use it to connect any other NoMachine server. Note, however, that the Android version available in the Play Store currently has some issues on Chromebook (you can search our forums for more details about that), so we can provide you with a new package via a private link like we have done with other Chromebook users. When we release version 8, you will then be able to go back to the Play Store to get updates etc.

If it’s running Linux you can download packages from the NoMachine website.

And which package do you install? On our website you can choose between NoMachine Free Edition and Enterprise Client. The Free Edition contains both the player and server components i.e you can install this package on the remote computer you want to access and you can also install it on the computer you want to connect from since it includes the connection interface, what we call NoMachine Player. In the Play Store, as I already mentioned, you will find the Player app for Android.
