    Hi!

    Just upgraded my router desktop computer from Fedora 23 to Fedora 26 (both 64 bit) and installed latest free v.5.3.9. Selinux disabled. I connect with Windows client OK, but some applications cannot be launched: Files, Terminal, any application in System tools. The clock spins for a while, then nothing happens. Same behaviour when starting the application from Applications menu or from desktop icon.

    Some applications like Firefox, Wireshark etc. launch OK.

    nxerror.log on server shows:

    899 4811 09:42:34 795.514 HostWmRunningHelper: WARNING! Failed to open display ‘:0’. No protocol specified
    899 7504 10:12:35 656.312 HostWmRunningHelper: WARNING! Failed to open display ‘:1024’. No protocol specified

    On client side no errors detected, warnings that USB and network cannot be shared.

    Same firewall tuning, same certificate key files like on F23 where everything was working fine.

    A strange thing which I noticed when launching Files and Terminal applications from desktop icon: a warning message appeared for a few times saying that the application might be unsafe to run, needs confirmation and application launches OK.

    Any clue?

    This is related to Fedora’s use of Wayland.

    Please see the following Feature Request which documents adding support for Wayland: https://www.nomachine.com/FR10N03221.

    Until we add support for Wayland protocol you should disable Wayland in the gdm configuration by adding the following key in /etc/gdm/custom.conf:

    WaylandEnable=false
