Hi
I do not succeed in installing any connection to a remote desktop computer. What is funny the that the Desktop I would like to establish a connection is present with it’s name on the list view (I also checked the correct IP and port number), but when I click on it for establishing a connection I get the error message “Ooops! Could not initialize the connection, please verify your proxy settings.”
But where do I check proxy settings, and what do I have to check there ?
Thankfull for every hint which helps.

Hi Christian! Normally the proxy is not enabled, so let’s try to understand what is happening.
First of all, click Settings in the menu, select Player, select Security and verify if the “Use a proxy” option under group Proxy is checked. This is the global option and it applies to any connections started with the client.
If you see the option is unchecked you should check the specific connection configuration. Go back to the list of connections, select the one you want to use, click Edit, select Configuration from the left column and verify if the “Use custom proxy” option under group Proxy is checked.
I think one of those options is enabled, but the proxy data can’t be retrieved for some reasons. It would be enough to uncheck the box since you don’t need a proxy.

In order to make some test runs simple, I installed two Dell Optiplex 9020 PC physically on my desktop. On both machines, Windows 10 is installed (Client = DESKTOP-HomeOffice / Server = DESKTOP-3EQ6AMI).
Both machines are connected via a LAN cable to my fritzbox7360
On both machines NoMachine 8.1.2. is installed. And on both machines, I can access the internet, my emails, and router settings.First try:
On the server side, I checked the box “Use a proxy”, then went back on the client PC and tried to make a connection. On the server side I unchecked the box “Use a proxy”, selected the client I wanted to connect to and selected In Configuration “Use custom proxy” and checked the box. As for some reason I am not allowed to upload a log file and as the log files are very small I simply copy/pasted them 🙂

The proxy is a NoMachine setting that you enable on the Player side (the machine you connect from), not the server side. You are enabling “Manual proxy configuration” but the message shows that “Failed getting proxy settings” which suggests there is nothing configured in the panel (see attached).
Please show us what you have configured on the Player (open !M on the player, go to settings, select Player, select Security, enable Proxy and then select your preference. You must indicate to NoMachine the details of your proxy server here.)
