I have a very good experience when I use Amazon Cloud EC2 as Ubuntu 20.04 headless server.

Recently I turn to use my own VM on NUC as new headless server,  and I  use Proxmox VE as VM platform and  Ubuntu 20.04 as VM as well.  I found that the session is very easy to be terminated unexpectedly.  When I try to resize a window in desktop, it generally will just cause the session to be terminated.

My NoMachine version is latest 8.1.2_1 amd64.

Is there anything I can do to maintain the session reliability?

Hi, thanks for taking the time to report this. Does the player window show an error or does the session window just close?

Are there any core files generated that you can share with us?

Actually such issue happens very frequently.  When the session is terminated, the Win10 player window shows login window, and if you try to login immediately, it will report “cannot connect to nomachine monitor”. I think nxserver will just terminate the session and start new one, before new session is ready, the login attempt will just go back to login window.

You will encounter this time to time. Not only resize the window in desktop will cause it, sometimes just try to drag the window will cause this too. or just open a big program will have chance to get this as well.

Is it because of  the GPU driver in VM platform?  I can see a lot of graphical card in VM platform that I can choose, not sure which one is better:
