I believe you have also submitted a Report Issue. Please select one channel for this issue. I will write here what the team already requested.
In order to investigate this issue, we would need installation logs. They are placed in the AppData folder under the user’s home, e.g.:
C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Temp\Setup Log 2016-02-2…..March 10, 2016 at 11:36 #10498david2611Participant
I have also just received this error when installing on a Windows 8.1 machine. I am attempting to install NoMachine 5.1.9_7.
I believe I have attached the installation logs you were talking about previously that you said you would need in order to investigate the issue.
Can you offer any advice as to how I should proceed or direct me where I should look next?
Thanks in advance.March 14, 2016 at 10:00 #10548zaqContributor
We have prepared a debug package and can send you the link.
Please send logs from the installation, even when everything will be ok:

I’m encountering the same error during an install on XP. After clicking ‘Next’ the error dialog window pops up as per the OP’s screenshot, and upon clicking ‘OK’ it cancels the setup process with a screen saying:
Updating to a different server type not supported
With the only buttons as ‘Back’ and ‘Cancel’
Using NoMachine v5.1.9_7 (free)
It successfully installed on my Windows 8.1 machine, but I needed it to be installed on my XP machine.April 19, 2016 at 10:33 #10950
Just following up. Did you both check your inboxes?April 21, 2016 at 21:15 #10976
@Britgirl. Checked, but I don’t see anything new from NoMachine in either the Inbox or Spam. Was there something sent?April 21, 2016 at 21:16 #10984
Yes. But I will send it again. Write to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com and we can also send it to you that way.April 26, 2016 at 10:51 #11034
@Spart, thanks for sending in the logs. We can confirm that the bug reported in 5.1.9 is fixed in the latest version, so everyone please update their software to 5.1.2x.April 28, 2016 at 09:28 #11067samikbagchiParticipant
I’m trying to install NoMachine 5.1.24 on my windows 7 enterprise and having similar problem i.e. runtime error (at 61:554).April 28, 2016 at 11:07 #11082
@samikbaqchi we’ll need the installation logs. They are placed in the AppData folder under the user’s home, e.g.:
C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\Temp\Setup Log 2016-04-2…..
Send them to forum[at]nomachine [dot] comMay 2, 2016 at 08:18 #11128
The issue wasn’t fixed for me on XP using the latest version suggested (5.1.22_7). Upon clicking ‘Next’ the error dialog ‘Runtime Error (at 61:554): Out of Range.’ continues to appear and prevents installation. I’ll be sending the new install log via email in a bit, in case it helps.
Is there a reason this particular error might occur?May 6, 2016 at 11:17 #11208
We’re not sure. The reason is not what we originally thought, so we need to send you a new debug package. Check your inbox.May 6, 2016 at 16:26 #11220samikbagchiParticipantMay 18, 2016 at 17:39 #11369
