Screen blanking issue with 7.4.1, works correctly with 6

Hi all,

I upgraded to 7.4.1 from version 6 yesterday. Now when I use the blank physical screen option on my Linux Mint hosts, the screen fades to black then starts to pulse to partially visible and back. Tested on a dual GPU laptop and a single GPU desktop. Both machines are running amd cards with the open source driver.

I downgraded to the only version 6 deb I had available (6.9.2) and blanking is working properly again. Has anyone else seen this issue? I note that there are old KB articles about this relating to auto-brightness but in my case it hasn’t been an issue until the upgrade to v7.

Server and Clients – NoMachine 7.4.1, Linux Mint 20.1, mainline kernel 5.11 (tested .8 to .11), Cinnamon desktop.
