    Hi,

I’m using NoMachine 8.1.2 to connect from my Windows 10 PC to an old iMac (running High Sierra).

On the Windows side of things, everything is working fine.  (And such a massive improvement over [removed].)

However, I have set the Mac to blank the screen when there is an active connection, but it’s not working.

The screen goes blank, and then wakes up almost immediately, and then goes blank again, and then wakes up a few seconds later, ad infinitum.

Which is, as I’m sure you can imagine, extremely annoying when I can see it out of the corner of my eye.

Is this a known issue?  Or is there some setting I’m missing that would fix this?

    Hi,

can you check if any gamma correcting application is running on the server side? It could be f.lux, lunar or something similiar. If they are running you will need to disable them for blanking to work properly.

If that’s not the case we would need server side logs to investigate your problem. Please follow instructions from https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/DT11R00181 and send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.

    Hi,

Disabling f.lux stopped the screen from completely activating, but the backlight is still pulsing on and off with every keypress/mouse move.

    Logs inbound shortly…

Does the pulsing happen only when using local mouse/keyboard? If yes, then it is an expected behaviour that is meant to show that the machine is not “dead” to a user that is not aware that someone is connected.

No, it happens when I’m using the client-side mouse and keyboard.
