The TR described here is not solved: https://www.nomachine.com/TR02S10068

    Please reopen.

    NoMachine version 7.10.1 free version.

Mac guest (10.15.7), linux host OpenSUSE Tumbleweed 5.19.8-1.1 Gnome 42.

Also happens with iOS 15 guest and linux host. Linux guest with linux host is not affected.

    Hello lavadrop,

To make sure this is the same issue, can you please send us server logs to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com, making sure to reference the topic in subject ?

If needed, here’s the procedure to collect NoMachine logs: https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/DT11R00181

PS: if you tried to attach logs or a screenshot in your post, it unfortunately failed – you can share them by e-mail.

I would like to edit that only the server running Wayland fails, I can connect to my other computers that either run macos Catalina or Linux with Xorg.

Sorry for the delay. Server logs show that whatever problem is there occurs before the session starts. However, the logs also show that debug level in node.cfg wasn’t enabled and this would be useful in order to be able to comment more specifically. Could you run sudo /etc/NX/nxserver --debug --enable all and restart? The the nx* log entries from journalctl would be useful as well. Please see section “Logging to syslog” of the document here: https://kb.nomachine.com/DT11R00182#1 on how to extract that file.

Hi, we got your last message about enabling logs. We’ll wait for you to submit them.

You also mentioned you had some issues with automatic updates i.e NoMachine didn’t auto-update or show info about latest update, and you had to manually check the update? And subsequently the update process would fail when downloading?

Logs about manual installation can be found in the /var/log which on Linux is usr/NX/var/log/ and on Mac it’s /Library/Applications Support/NoMachine/var/log. We’d need to see the nxinstall.log and nxupdate.log.

Logs about updating via the GUI are in $HOME/.nx directory. To collect those you need to enable “Don’t delete logs on exit” in “Player Preferences” -> “Privacy” and then reproduce the error. If you reproduce it, submit the the entire /Users//.nx directory.

To properly collect those logs you can take a look on this article https://www.nomachine.com/DT04M00076#6.

Hi, I just realized the files were never attached to the email I sent at forum[at]nomachine[dot]com

The logs are over 390 MB uncompressed, 24 MB compressed, can you open Apple MailDrop? Can you open 7zip files instead? Those are around 13 MB in size.

Where did you send them to? We have not received any logs. Can you send us a link to download them maybe?

Hi, logs show that it’s an issue that we have also reproduced in our labs and are currently working on. For the moment, the only workaround available is to disable Wayland and use x.org.
