    Greetings!

I’ve just started using NoMachine again after not having used it for a few years.  I seem to recall that I used to be able to save a shortcut for a connection for a specific machine right on my desktop.  I’ve looked all through my currently installed version (6.16 on Windows) and cannot seem to find a way to do this.  I’m hoping that I’m just missing something obvious, but since I can’t find it… this seemed to be the best place to ask.

    TYIA for any help.

    Hi Netopia,

There are multiple ways to have a shortcut pointing to your connection settings:

    – Click New in the client, and at the end of the wizard check the option “Create a link on the desktop”

    or

    – Copy the connection file on to the desktop – the connection file is located by default in Documents\NoMachine

    or

    – Copy the connection file and paste it as shortcut on desktop

In all cases you can save the password in the connection file, if you don’t want to be asked again at connection time.

When you’re in the authentication panel the first time you connect, select the box “Save this password in the connection file” then click OK.
