I get the error “the connection to the server was lost” when I am trying to connect with the server. am using Windows 2007 professional and 5.0.63 version.
My protocol is SSH. Port is 22. I must also refer that i am connected via Vpn with my university’s network before i try the connection(i dont know if this is has anything to do about but i refer it because i am newbie). I have also attached the logs, thank you. you.February 26, 2016 at 11:49 #10244
No logs were attached I’m afraid. Can you reattach or submit them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com? They should be both client and server-side logs. I understand that your client is Windows, but we would also need you to confirm what you are connecting to: OS and version, what NoMachine product is it? If you are not the administrator of the server you are connecting to, then it might be better if they open a support ticket.
If you are accessing a NoMachine server installation which you are in charge of, the full instructions for extracting the logs (both sides) are here: https://www.nomachine.com/DT07M00098.February 26, 2016 at 16:07 #10248

How can i communicate with the postmaster?February 26, 2016 at 16:13 #10252
There is a limit on the mail server. Is it possible for you to split them up maybe? If they are so big, it might be that you have logs from old sessions? If so, we don’t need those, just the logs from the affected session.February 29, 2016 at 09:59 #10263
Well, I think I made a mistake at creating my connection. NoMachine says:
Don’t use a proxy: “Choose this if you are connecting a computer on your same LAN or a residential network.
I want to connect with a server at a university in Netherlands and i live in Greece. So I must choose to connect with proxy right? The fact is that i am totally new to this, so could you guide me how to connect via proxy?February 29, 2016 at 15:16 #10318
Ideally your university should provide you with the server IP details to use when setting up your connection. When connecting to a server, most likely protected by a firewall, you need to select option according to their instructions.
If you continue to have problems connecting, please contact the administrator of the university’s server. They will be able to check whether there is something wrong on their side.
