    Hi,

    until version 4.2.24 i had no problem with all connection from 4.2.24 or before to server 4.2.24 or before version.
    Now :
    I have installed NX4 4.2.25/i386 on my pc for remote help connection.
    If I connect to server version NX4 4.2.25 32 bit, after some minutes, for example, when i search by gnome shell dash a program, remote pc freeze, but only Gnome Shell, and i must reboot system with shell command by ctrl+alt+F6.

    Hi,

    we weren’t able to reproduce this issue in our labs so far. Can you please send us the “.xsession-error” file located in the home directory of the user owning the desktop?

    Also a full set of logs could be useful. You can gather them following the guidelines in this article: https://www.nomachine.com/AR07K00677.

    Can you please also explain what you mean exactly with “remote pc freeze, but only Gnome Shell”. Other applications continue to work?

    Hi,

    sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

    Logs were examined and we couldn’t find anything wrong. In the meanwhile version 4.2.27 has been released. Can you check the new one?

    Many more tests have been run in the time being on that platform without any problem and honestly I can’t imagine how NoMachine could disrupt the system keyboard and mouse. Are you sure this issue is triggered by NoMachine and it is not reproducible when working on the physical machine? Can it be originated maybe by a system update?

    Rescuing the topic:
    first apologize for the language, if something is not well understood, is the translator of google.
    NoMachine I have been using since version 4.2.25 and 4.2.27 currently, I have more or less the same problem and searching the internet I found forums in 2012 describing exactly the same problem.

    Really, my problem is that the graphical environment is frozen, can disconnect from the remote machine and re-connect without problems, equipment and service NX continue to respond correctly, the environment becomes unresponsive.

    I’m currently using debian testing environment with cinnamon.
    case problem was I tried graphical environment matte and xfce and also has happened to me.

    case was the system, I come from very different test configurations as “antergos (archlinux)
    Manjaro (archlinux)
    LMDE (debian)
    “linux mint (debian / ubuntu)
    solydXK (debian)
    and probably some other I forget, different operating systems, with different kernels and different desktop environments with one thing in common, NoMachine.

    so is that if I can, after 1000 go crazy and try different configurations and search the internet, confirm that the problem is triggered by NX Nomachine. It is a problem that does not always happen, maybe I can be an entire morning working remotely without any freezing, or other day, I just connect and after 2 minutes the environment freezes, I can move the mouse, and if pressure “ctrl + alt + f2 “I switch to restart the computer terminal. but it is very annoying.

    I really like the performance NoMachine, and in spite of having purchased license teamviewer, I like that the application is native to linux NoMachine unlike the botched teamviewer requiring wine, and ease of NoMachine on a package as “deb or rpm . but if you do not fix it I see I changed to look for other solutions.

    Please tell me how I can help to try to solve this problem.

    Hi, I don’t know what problems you found from 2012 because version 4 was only released last year. Do you have the links? Perhaps they were about version 3.x?

    Anyway, it’ important you have the latest version on both client and server (4.2.27). Provided you have version 4 client and server installed, it will be easier if you enable logs both sides, reproduce the problem and then submit them to us so we can check that it’s not a problem we are already aware of.  E.g there is https://www.nomachine.com/TR04L04396

    I attached the log here “server ” .

    this afternoon will activate the log of the “client ” .

    of course , I’m using the latest version “27” on all my computers.

    Update !

    Sorry, i come back only now, when October coming on middle time …

    The situation updated is :

    • product i download and use are : NoMachine for Linux DEB i386 and NoMachine for Linux DEB Amd64
    • every free version from 4.2.25 to newer are affected by freeze problem
    • my distro’s is Ubuntu 12.04LTS updated, i use 70 pc’s with this distro
    • DE is Gnome Shell

    Today, i try to make this, to resolve problem, but i tell isn’t the solution.
    In one pc i use, from now, Gnome Classic without effect, and i hope i resolve, for now, the problem. I tell, here, if i resolve, but see up my words “isn’t the solution”, because my DM is for all Gnome Shell.

    Tnk’s for help, if solution are found, this help too NoMachine, i think.

    Next, update notice after test.

    After 5 day of test, with Gnome Classic without effect, non freeze occurs.

    And now ?

    Problem is on NX with Gnome Shell DM, there is solution ?

    Did you update the software to 4.3.30? Are you still encountering issues?

    Can you try the latest 4.4.1 and let us know if you still have the same problem?

    I have not tried gnome shell 3, but use cinnamon in different distros ” LMDE , debian testing, archlinux ” and cinnamon also freezes. If I work from the kde environment I do not have any problems , I can spend hours working remotely perfectly.

    But if I start with cinnamon environment, just five minutes I’m working I’m 30 minutes, I do not get it.

    I’ve tried different versions of cinnamon ( 2.0.16 , 2.2.4 and 2.2.5 new ) and all I just have the same problem .

    I’m using the latest version of NoMachine 4.4.6 on both computers.

    So if you say that gnome shell users have the same problem , cinnamon is a fork of gnome shell , so it seems to be a problem between NoMachine and gnome shell .
