    Has anybody installed Ubuntu + VirtualGL + Gnome + NoMachine?

    I’m getting the blank (black) screen on the client side

    Search the system log for any error issued by Gnome: journalctl -b -0 | grep -i gnome.

    I can connect to my NoMachine server if I log in local graphical console

    $ glxinfo | grep -i “renderer\|vendor”

    server glx vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation

    client glx vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation

    OpenGL vendor string: NVIDIA Corporation

    OpenGL renderer string: GeForce GTX 1050/PCIe/SSE2

    so, it’s not using Virtual GL, it looks like a kind of screencast.

    it seems I need to run a new session of Gnome (a new virtual desktop). Is it possible in the free version?

    Virtual desktops are not available in the free edition of NoMachine. You need a product among the NoMachine Terminal Server family (NoMachine Workstation, for example).

    I’ve managed!

    I built the docker container with headless VirtualGL Xserver, mounted X-socket file into the main host and restarted NoMachine.

    NoMachine + VirtualGL + Gnome work great!

    thanks!
