    Installed NoMachine Version 6.5.6 on Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS.

    Added username as administrator
    $ sudo /usr/NX/bin/nxserver –userlist –administrator
    NX> 149 NX administrators list
    ——————————–
    <my-user-name>

    When I attempt to change server settings by clicking “Changes disabled” I get a popup “Please insert user with administrative rights”. Providing <my-user-name> results in “Authentication failed, please try again” message.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks for all help.

    Is the user enabled to run sudo?

    Check the output of command sudo -l.
    Search system log for message from “nx” sources: journalctl -b -0 | grep n.
    Look at NoMachine log in /usr/NX/var/log/node/C-*/session and /usr/NX/var/log/nxerror.log.
