    Hi,

I am running a NoMachine connection from Linux client to Linux workstation. I found NoMachine to be the best solution for remote work, although I have one issue with Chrome.

When I am working remotely and open Chrome address/search bar (usually via ctrl+l, but clicking is the same) and start typing immediately the letters show up with delay of 10-20 seconds. The suggestions box appears usually after the first letter shows up, but is updated with even longer delay. The faster I type the longer the delay is, but more letters appear at the same time. Entering a full domain name can take almost a minute. I have created bookmarks to circumvent the issue and started to use Firefox more, but the issue does not go away.

When I am working locally Chrome works smoothly. I haven’t had a chance to observe it on both client and server at the same time.

This is the only thing that is slowing down my work. Everything else is working smooth, even Youtube running inside the said chrome browser is watchable.

Do you have any suggestions what to check? Any suggestions on the configuration of NoMachine?

    My setup:

    – server is running Ryzen 1700 with an old Oland XT [Radeon HD 8670 / R7 250/350] GPU; Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

    – client running Ubuntu 21.10

    – NoMachine 7.10 free version, but the issue was there in previous versions, not sure which exactly.

    Hi,

you can try using alternate event API. To do so: append DisplayServerExtraOptions "-alteventapi 1" to /usr/NX/etc/node.cfg on the server side. After that you will need to restart nxserver (sudo /etc/NX/nxserver --restart).

If that doesn’t help we would need server side logs to investigate your problem. Please follow instructions from https://knowledgebase.nomachine.com/DT11R00181 and send them to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com.
