After updating NoMachine to 6.11.2 on Xubuntu 18.04.3 I get unresponsive white screen when connecting using VP8 encoding.

Hello, what desktop environment is it?

Windows 10 using same version of NoMachine client. Xubuntu is using the default Xfce desktop.

Same here with Windows 10 -> Windows 10.

Interestingly, while the screen is white, I can access the peel menu. Then when I click the “disable client hardware decoding” the remote desktop appears instantenously . Works every time.

    No trouble with h.264 though.

Thank you for this, it solved the problem for me, or at least it’s a workaround.

I had the same problem, W10 -> W7 with VP8 since I updated NoMachine to the latest version.

Would both of you be willing to submit logs after having encountered the white screen issue? To do that, you’d need to enable debug, reproduce the problem and then submit them directly to forum[at]nomachine.com. That way we can investigate. Please follow these instructions. Thanks very much.

Here’s a set of logs, for client connection attempt from Window 10 to Xubuntu 18.04.4

Let me know if you’d like further debugging, thanks!

    Hi all,

the issue was reproduced in our labs and it is tracked here:

    https://www.nomachine.com/TR06R09772

The fix will be made available in the next software update. You can also select to be notified when the Trouble Report is closed.

At the moment, as a workaround, I suggest to use the H.264 codec (which is anyway the recommended option).

Thanks! I reverted to client version 6.10.12_1 since that allows me to use VP8 at server; using VP8 at server allows me to create recordings there that I can edit and view on players besides NoMachine.
