Hello, I am having a problem when I try to connect from an Ipad with the IOS client to a server running on Linux Mint. Whenever I try to connect I get a message “Authentication failed, please try again” in the client.

This problem only happens when I try this particular configuration. I have no problem connecting from machines running Linux or Windows clients, both in the same LAN or through a SSH tunnel.

Checking the /usr/NX/var/log/nxerror.log file I can see I’m getting “nxexecPAMCheckCredentials: ERROR!Authentication failed with error 7” with every login trial.

    More info:

The server is the Linux 6.7.6 version running on a Linux Mint 19.1 machine with kernel 5.1.4 and Xfce Desktop Environment.

The client is the IOS 6.1.9 version running on an iPad with iOS 12.3

I hope you can help me find some solution.

    Thanks.

From the error message it appears the password is wrong. Can you please verify that your password is entered correctly, for example by writing it in a clear input field momentarily within the NoMachine app? It could possibly be a problem with interpreting some characters which is causing the wrong password to be sent.

Hello again. I have been able to connect now. My password has the ‘ character but I was introducing the character ` due the spanish iOS keyboard layout. I hope this helps someone else.

Thank you very much for your advice.
