ParticipantHello all,
OS Ubuntu 22.04, Wayland is disabled.
Latest version of NoMachine (free tier).
I’m getting the error mentioned in the subject when trying to connect with user mike, after john has disconnected from his session.
If we reboot the computer, mike is able to connect, as long as john hasn’t connected.
This is what systemctl status shows:
Oct 23 17:23:01 super nxexec[65565]: pam_unix(nx:session): session opened for user mike(uid=1003) by (uid=126)
Oct 23 17:23:06 super nxexec[65754]: pam_unix(nx:auth): authentication failure; logname= uid=126 euid=0 tty= ruser= rhost>
Oct 23 17:23:21 super nxexec[66347]: pam_unix(nx:session): session opened for user gdm(uid=121) by (uid=126)
Oct 23 17:23:56 super nxexec[66570]: pam_unix(nx:session): session opened for user john(uid=1000) by (uid=126)Thanks

By default all desktop sharing connections must be explicitly accepted to proceed. On the remote computer users are connecting to, go to “Server settings -> Security -> User Acceptance -> Don’t require acceptance if the user logged in as a system user”. Make sure that box is checked. The default setting is to not require acceptance if the owner of the desktop logs in from remote, but not for other system users.
Please also see our Guide to the NoMachine Server User Interface. Scroll down to “Server security”:

ParticipantHello @Britgirl,
I don’t have a ‘User Acceptance’ section.
Also , the ‘Require user acceptances’ checkboxes are disabled.

ParticipantYou should submit that screenshot to forum[at]nomachine[dot]com, the link was removed because it was unavailable. You say that you are using the latest version of NoMachine, which is version 8. I assumed you were referring to the server side. Please confirm what NoMachine product and version is installed on the server side. Thanks.

ParticipantIs that a screenshot from the computer you are connecting to?
When user John disconnects, what is seen? Can you show a screenshot of what is visible when John disconnects?
